The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Wednesday
BANKER
Hamlul(3.30 Beverley)
Sir Michael Stoute does well when sending horses up to Beverley and he has just one runner there on Wednesday in the shape of Hamlul, a Frankel colt owned by Saeed Suhail. The three-year-old took plenty of time to come to hand but having performed respectably on debut when eighth at Nottingham, he progressed to finish runner-up to a subsequent winner (now rated 89) at Kempton over 1m3f. He was only a length behind that day and it was no surprise to see him sent off a warm order over 1m4f at Newcastle on his latest start. He travelled like a good horse that day but after making a big move entering the straight, he had nothing left at the business end. The drop back to 1m2f is undoubtedly in his favour and the form of that race is really strong with the first three home scoring since.
DARK HORSE
Three-year-olds have won this confined handicap eight times in the last ten years and they look to have a good chance of enhancing that record with Marcus Tregoning's Champs De Reves. He has the profile of a horse I like to be on the right side of as he enters handicap company for the first time following good runs in novice and maiden races. He was a real eyecatcher when staying on powerfully over a mile at Lingfield last time out and his mark of 73 could prove lenient as he steps up in trip. Hayley Turner retains the ride and this is far from a tough race.
