BANKER

Artarmon(2.40 Catterick)

Michael Bell has a 40 per cent strike-rate when sending runners to Catterick in the last five years (10-24) and Artarmon, one of two runners for the trainer at the course on Wednesday, can enhance that record. Although he's starting to look exposed with six starts to his name, he has shown gradual improvement since being gelded and noted himself as a future winner when running well the last twice. His fourth in a decent Sandown handicap – a much better race than this – on his penultimate start was a massive step up on his previous performances and he was unfortunate to run into a good horse for the grade last time out at Chelmsford. The third from that race, Zilara, won on Monday and Artarmon looks set to follow suit in a first-time visor.

EYECATCHER

Diocles Of Rome(6.55 Kempton)

It's always worth looking out for when Ralph Beckett adds headgear to his runners and the application of first-time blinkers on Diocles Of Rome can help him get off the mark. One of the most unexposed horses in this three-year-old handicap, Diocles Of Rome has shown plenty of promise in four career starts to date and has strongly suggested he's better than a mark of 70. He's hung badly in two starts this year, hence why Beckett has opted for the headgear, but with that tendency hopefully rendered, today should be his day.
