Racing Post Ratings: Simon Turner

Romanised (4.20 Ascot)

Surprise winner of the Irish 2,000 Guineas when the step up to a mile on fast ground proved key. Good value given that is the best of this year's form on offer.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Limato (2.30 Ascot)

Boasts smart form and figures over shorter trips but Henry Candy's six-year-old should be given a chance to prove his class over a mile.

Longshot: Olly Eden

Indigo Balance (3.05 Ascot)

Stayed on strongly and ran out a comfortable winner of a Curragh maiden, beating subsequent winners. This colt is highly regarded and should not be overlooked in what is a competitive Coventry Stakes.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

St Brelades Bay (7.20 Sligo)

Following two solid efforts over six furlongs on both of his starts this season, the Jessica Harrington-trained six-year-old steps up one furlong in trip. He has been placed over the distance and can account for his five rivals, with 5lb claimer Tom Madden on board.

Indigo Balance (3.05 Ascot)

An unbeaten colt has won nine of the last ten runnings of the Coventry Stakes. Of course, plenty fit the bill today but Indigo Balance can prove to be the best of them.
