The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday

Sir Mark Prescott: 'He's a man of great style and elegance'

BANKER

Praeceps(5.10 Salisbury)

This is a very good race for the grade with three real improvers in a four-strong field and, even though Supernova and Winds Of Fire are an unexposed duo who hold solid claims on their form this year, it could pay to stick with Sir Mark Prescott's Praeceps. The son of Canford Cliffs took plenty of time to come into himself over longer trips this year – unlike the majority of the shrewd trainer's three-year-olds – but he kickstarted his good run of form over this course-and-distance in July and hasn't looked back. He was unlucky to run into a horse completing a five-timer at Nottingham on his penultimate start, but he won with plenty in hand last time out and is technically 2lb well in today.

EYECATCHER

B Fifty Two (3.30 Beverley)

Marjorie Fife's nine-year-old lost his way since winning at Pontefract in April with form figures of 553940800 to his name in his subsequent runs, but he bounced back under a welter burden of 10st 12lb at Carlisle last time out when only narrowly beaten and is allowed to race off the same mark here. The return to form coincided with a drop down to the minimum trip, which he's kept at today, and the son of Dark Angel, who was once rated in the low 100s, should go close from a good draw.
