EYECATCHER

King Oswald (3.20 Yarmouth)

Stuart Williams' Oakley Mimosa will no doubt be fancied for this on just her second handicap start and, although I tipped her to win last time in a similar race to this, I can't be having her at all here at the forecast price. She took an absolute age to get going that day at Lingfield and the form hasn't worked out. Instead I'd rather side with James Unett's experienced King Oswald, who is to be partnered by Antonio Fresu. The five-year-old, who won at this course last year off 3lb higher, has run really nice races to finish second here the last twice and provided the rather race-heavy summer hasn't taken its toll, he should go close again.

GOOD THING

Data Protection(8.15 Sandown)

Quick conditions are key to William Muir's Data Protection and the downpour before and during racing at York when the three-year-old last ran completely ruined his chance. After putting a line through that run, his form this season is quite impressive with a good third on his reappearance at 50-1, before hacking up by nine lengths at Epsom under Nicola Currie, who is back aboard today. He travelled really well that day in a first-time tongue-tie and cleared away from his rivals with ease. Although he's higher in the weights now, he looks to be progressing and can deny Sir Michael Stoute's Whitehall.
