BIG-RACE BANKER

Librisa Breeze(3.35 Newbury)

I tipped Dean Ivory's supremely-talented grey in my RFO column on Monday, on the Racing Post Postcast on Thursday and now in The Punt on Saturday, so I think it's fair to say my eggs are well and truly in his basket. Second in this race last year, Librisa Breeze went on to land the Group 1 Champions Sprint at Ascot last September, before disappointing when ninth at Meydan and Royal Ascot this season. The ground was far too quick for him on those occasions and it was no surprise to see him bounce back with a great effort to finish fourth in the Prix Maurice de Gheest last time out. The underfoot conditions are likely to suit today, hopefully he'll have some sort of pace to run at and he's definitely the best horse in the field in my opinion.

EYECATCHER

Syrian Pearl(3.20 Newmarket)

This race is Syrian Pearl's Derby. Chris Wall's seven-year-old mare loves it here at Newmarket and won this fantastic spectacle of a race two years ago when flying late to get up by half a length off a mark of 79. That came on good to firm ground, but she's versatile when it comes to conditions and proved that when fifth in this race last year on soft ground. She was luckless that day and finished just behind the protagonists despite not finding a passage in the final furlong. She returns again off just a 1lb higher mark than when successful in 2016 and should go extremely close under Jason Watson.

DARK HORSE

Squats (3.00 Newbury)

If you're looking for one at a decent price today, look no further than Squats. William Haggas's gelding has only won one of his last 28 starts, but that came in this race last year and he's now running off an 8lb lower mark. He's very in-and-out and he chooses when he wants to run a big race, but he seems to like it at Newbury and with the ground set to suit, he can go well under regular rider Georgia Cox.
