Plumpton Placepot picks: Tom Segal with three bankers in his perm

It's not a high-quality card at Plumpton but it's a competitive one, and as a consequence it should make some appeal to Placepot punters.

There are a few unknowns in the opening maiden hurdle (1.50) but the safest option is to bank on Lusaka, who was just touched off in a similar race at Fontwell in August. He's Sean Bowen's only ride on the card.

The Andrew "Super Wack" Jackson Memorial Novices' Handicap Chase (2.20) that follows looks much more complicated, so it might be best to include a couple in any perm.

Right Destination is yet to win a race of any description but he jumps well and will appreciate stepping up in trip, having finished his race off well enough over shorter last time. Topweight Heronord has loads of form off similar marks that suggest he can go well too.

Having won a decent seller on the Flat at Goodwood last time, Borntobealeader looks the type of juvenile hurdler that could run up a sequence for David Pipe, so he's a banker in the Jon & Pandora Wedding Week Juvenile Hurdle (2.50).

As is Sergeant in the handicap hurdle (3.20). He's consistent and is only 4lb higher than when a comfortable winner at Stratford recently.

With only four in the handicap chase (3.50) it makes sense to put in at least two, as any of them could win. My preference is for Only Money, who has gone well fresh in the past, and Barest Of Margins, who probably would have won but for coming down late on at Uttoxeter two starts ago.

In the final Placepot race, the Oakleaf Property Group Handicap Hurdle (4.20), Andapa looks sure to go well at a track she likes and locally trained Cobbs Corner showed enough last time to suggest he can hit the frame off his current mark.
