Oceanus (1.35 Brighton, nap)

Ran a great race to be beaten just a head in an amateur riders' contest over course and distance last time. Julia Feilden has her team in great form and the gelding is expected to go one better.

Carlisle 4.55 Lewinsky

Has done well for Jamie Snowden and is unbeaten over fences after two wins in novice handicaps this summer. Takes a step up in grade here, but ran out an emphatic winner last time and looks likely to progress further.

Brighton 2.40 Lady Morel, 5.15 The Big Short.
Worcester 4.05 Guiding Stars 4.35 Robert's Star.

North: Colin Russell

Touch Of Color (3.10 Brighton, nap)

This four-year-old filly is a rare Brighton runner for Richard Fahey. She is still a maiden but her best efforts have been at the course and with ground to suit she is fancied to break her duck on stable debut.

Others to follow
Worcester 2.30 Seeanythingyoulike 5.05 Rainy Day Dylan

Racing Post Ratings: Simon Turner

Melanna (2.50 Carlisle)

Yet to fire for Richard Ford but struck form around this time last year and has dropped to a favourable mark. Takes a notable drop in grade and worth chancing on ground that suits.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Whitecrest (3.45 Brighton)

Not beaten far here a week ago, John Spearing's sprightly nine-year-old receives weight from all and can record his fifth course success.

Longshot: Ed Quigley

Gannicus (4.45 Brighton)

On a long losing run on the flat, but is on an attractive mark and has an excellent record over course and distance.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Dorkas (5.00 Galway)

Although dropping in distance, the James Finn-trained eight-year-old gets the vote to record a second win over fences in this 2m2f handicap. Successful over 3m at Sligo last month, she looked set to follow up when falling at the final fence at Tramore last time. She handles soft ground well and can score under Brian O'Connell.
