Yarmouth Placepot picks: Tom Collins provides his 48-line perm

There aren't many trickier starts to a Placepot than a big-field novice (1.00) that features a number of unraced juveniles, so it's wise to play safe with three selections in the Yarmouth opener.

Roger Varian has a 59 per cent strike-rate (48-81) with his two-year-olds here, so Glam De Vega has to go in. Well-bred 200,000gns purchase Salvator Mundi is hard to overlook, as is Farhh colt Shigar.

Haydock second Al Barez looks banker material in leg two (1.30), while topweight Sayf Al Dawla and the well-handicapped Kryptos are fancied to hit the frame in the 1m3½f handicap (2.05).

The 1m2f handicap (2.40) has quantity but not quality and the lightly raced Beryl Burton and Meadow Sprite should come to the fore. There is little originality in selecting the two in-form three-year-olds.

Trappy is the first word that comes to mind when deliberating who to include in the penultimate mile handicap (3.15). Arabic Welcome has run only once on turf and could improve, while Fashion Free ran well here earlier on the season and is just 2lb higher now.

Glasstrees, who has shaped well on her last two starts, and handicap debutante Token Trader are chosen to close out the perm in the 7f nursery (3.50).
