His main hope to enhance that statistic is Maydanny, who won this event 12 months ago off a mark of 90 and can show his dominance once again under Jim Crowley. Clearly well suited by this track and trip, Maydanny ran a clear career-best at Sandown last time yet gets to run off 1lb lower here. Drawn well in stall five to sit prominently, Maydanny can retain his crown.

DARK HORSE

Dalanijujo has already posted a couple of career-best performances this season and should be helped by the rain this week. She produced a good turn of foot to win at Yarmouth on her return and was far from disgraced when sixth in the Kensington Palace at Royal Ascot. With Tom Marquand booked, Dalanijujo is fancied to go close.
