The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Thursday afternoon

GOOD THING

(1.50 Newmarket)

It's not hard to make a case for Mandoob or Yibir in this year's edition of the Bahrain Trophy, but both will have to improve on their recent efforts to beat Stowell, who finished a good third in the Queen's Vase. The lightly raced three-year-old was given plenty to do at Royal Ascot but picked up takingly in the straight to move from second-last into the placings (produced the fastest sectional in the field between 2f-1f out) and is open to further improvement for trainers John and Thady Gosden.

EYECATCHER

(3.00 Newmarket)

A course-and-distance winner as a juvenile, Jadwal remains well treated off a mark of 88 and has been unlucky not to add to his initial success so far this season. He bumped into subsequent winners Dragon Symbol and Baba Reza on his first two outings, before running a screamer to take second behind the reopposing Jumby on the Rowley Mile on his penultimate start. He was seriously inconvenienced by the draw at York last time and is fancied to go close at a double-figure price under David Egan.
