The Evening Punt: Robbie Wilders' horse racing tip at York on Friday
DARK HORSE
Apricot Moon (8.00 York)
Defied odds of 125-1 to finish seventh in the Irish 1,000 Guineas for Andy Oliver last season behind Peaceful on just her second outing. That run is looking like a flash in the pan at this stage, but she showed some promise on her first start for George Boughey when sixth in a Listed contest at Nottingham. I’m not sure she was completely cooked up on her next outing at Ascot when well beaten at a big price in the Kensington Palace Stakes and the handicapper has dropped her 5lb to a workable looking mark of 85. This Class 3 contest looks much weaker and Apricot Moon is owned by Clipper Logistics, who have a strong affinity with York. She remains a talented filly and if the shrewd Boughey can find the key to her she will play a leading role.
