Testing ground at Lingfield makes for a tasty Placepot prospect

Conditions are set to be very testing at Lingfield, which helps whittle down the contenders for your Placepot perms.

Alka Step has run well this autumn on his last two encounters with soft or heavy ground so has positive credentials in the opening conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle (12.33), which features some inconsistent rivals.

Another to bank on is Tribesmans Glory in the novice handicap chase (1.03). The Tom George-trained six-year-old impressed on last month's chase debut on soft ground at Bangor.

Deebaj could be streets ahead of his rivals in the claiming hurdle (1.33), but it is his first run since March so back-up is needed in the shape of Jumping Jack, who was a fair fourth on heavy ground last time out.

The drop back in trip looks a negative for Avoir De Soins in the 2m handicap chase (2.03) and he is opposed with Away For Slates and Champion Chase, who regularly place.

One of Annual Invictus or The Mick Preston would probably be enough to get through the novice hurdle (2.33), but including the pair provides insurance against a mishap and there is a good chance both will be placed anyway.

Bumper winner Windswept Girl brings potential to the mares' maiden hurdle (3.03), while La Reine Poutine is bred to be suited by the step up in trip.
