Ripon Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with a perm for the Garden Racecourse

I like the look of the card at Ripon this evening and the track appeals most for a Placepot.

The opening 6f maiden (5.25) is tricky. Tom Marquand is an eyecatching booking for Amy Murphy on Mustango and he looks solid. However, it’s also worth including Little Edi.

The mile handicap (5.55) is another competitive race. Copper Mountain has some solid form and is reasonably consistent. She is included, along with the lightly raced Henery Hawk.

The 5f handicap (6.25) shouldn’t be too difficult to negotiate provided all eight runners stand their ground. Course-and-distance winners High Security and Harrogate should get the job done.

The mile fillies' handicap (6.55) doesn’t feature many runners and any more absentees would mean the winner is needed. Dungar Glory is one of my best bets and Scotch Mistress also goes in.

Marquand rides for William Haggas in the 1m4f handicap (7.25) and the red-hot combination are worth banking on with Punda Maria. She looks a solid selection to finish in the first three.

I like Cru Eile at a huge price in the mile fillies' maiden (8.00) and it’s worth taking a chance on her. However, Haggas and Marquand might have the more solid option in the shape of Persist.
