Ascot
6.10: DREAM COMPOSER
The prospect of thunderstorms ahead of racing, and the subsequent effect on the ground, adds further uncertainty to a tricky puzzle. It is slightly surprising that Warrior Brave isn't a clear favourite after last weekend's improved showing at Sandown and he is greatly respected, for all that slow ground would ask a new question of him. Noorban would have been very high on the list on fast ground but, with conditions likely to change, it may pay to look elsewhere. Unexposed pair Equality and Boomshalaa will rightly have their supporters but the three who appeal most are Mo Celita, Significantly and Dream Composer (nap). Significantly's Newmarket second offers plenty of hope but Dream Composer is thriving, won't mind if the ground has softened and leaves the impression that a well-run race at this trip could produce another surge of improvement. There is plenty of speed drawn middle to high and his talented apprentice may be able to produce him with a strong late burst.

Down Royal
1.50: IRISH POSEIDON
Multiple Flat winner Irish Poseidon (nap) has shown definite potential for maiden hurdle success. He looks capable of coping with the likes of Cottie, Mars Harper and Aubretia, alll of whom have shaped quite well recently. Looking back further in time the highly-tried Hollow Sound should not be left out of calculations.

Goodwood
7.20: FLYIN' SOLO
Top of the list is Flyin' Solo (nap), whose form has really taken off recently. He travelled smoothly for a long way before winning eased-down on his step up to 1m4f at York last time and, although 9lb higher now, still looks feasibly treated and is open to further progress. The main threat could come from another big improver in Whitehaven, who won four of his last five starts last season and looks interesting if he can pick up where he left off.
David Moon
Limerick
8.15: RUN FOR MARY
The booking of Colin Keane on Run For Mary (nap) for the first time can be viewed as a positive, with this appearing a decent chance for the useful mare to start her season with a bang. If her lack of a recent run catches her out, Hook Head, Jake Peter or Anyonecanhaveitall look poised to take advantage.
Mark Boylan
Market Rasen
3.25: GETAREASON
Course specialist Ballyhome looks set to run a big race, while Deyrann De Carjac moves back up in trip after returning from a break with a very promising effort last month. However, the answer might be Getareason (nap), who comes here after two good efforts in novice chases and is still well-handicapped on some of his older form for Paul Nicholls.
Chris Wilson
Newmarket
7.30: DIVINE MAGIC
The consistent Divine Magic (nap), whose dam won on soft ground for the yard, has improved for the return to 7f at Leicester and can confirm superiority over Zwelela on 3lb worse terms. Spirit Of Bermuda, who got back on track there last time having refused to jump away at Redcar, rates the main danger.
Graham Wheldon
Redcar
2.40: ILZA'EEM
A case can be made for a few of these but Ilza'Eem (nap) is weighted to have a big say off just a 1lb higher mark than when runner-up at Nottingham (winner gone in since) and he gets the verdict. Six Strings rates a big threat if shrugging off a lesser effort at Carlisle last time and Doncaster scorer Copper And Five is another well in the mix in an open handicap.
