Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Saturday selections from Cheltenham, Doncaster, Fairyhouse and more

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Cheltenham

1.55: Galahad Quest

This looks like the right time to get on Galahad Quest, who was successful on this card two years ago and may well be ready to improve on two respectable efforts here this season. Second choice is Magic Saint, who is coming back to form, and third choice is Jacamar, who may have more to offer in the retained cheekpieces. Farinet looks a major player if coping with the switch to forecast faster ground and Whatmore has possibilities if returning from his absence in good shape.
Steve Boow

Doncaster

3.20: Demachine

Kerry Lee's two runners make the most appeal. Demachine is on an attractive mark based on last February's second in the Grade 2 Reynoldstown Novices' Chase at Ascot and he made a satisfactory reappearance in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury in November before unseating at the first fence at Ludlow recently. He is preferred to stablemate Storm Control, who idled in front when winning at Newbury last Wednesday and who remains well treated under a 5lb penalty. Kapcorse and Debece have been very lightly raced in recent years and are others who could play leading roles, along with Charlie Hall winner Fusil Raffles.

Fairyhouse

4.00: Western Zara

Cases can be made for a few of these but Western Zara, trying this trip for the first time under rules, makes most appeal towards the bottom end of the handicap. The experience gained in her first two handicaps should stand her in good stead for this assignment. Paddys Planet and Lord Lariat should be in the thick of things again, while Rajsalad could be a lively candidate on his handicap debut.
Mark Boylan

Uttoxeter

1.48: Keep Rolling

If reproducing his second behind a well-handicapped rival here in December then Keep Rolling has a massive chance. He hasn't always raced so keenly as at Exeter last time, which ultimately came at a cost on the heavy ground. Raecius Felix is handicapped to win again and could be the danger in first-time cheekpieces. Poldark Cross also has claims.
Alistair Jones

Lingfield

4.23: Rebel Redemption

John Butler's runners Martineo and Inaam are on dangerous marks and need monitoring in the betting, while Water Of Leith and Capla Spirit are capable of a prominent showing. The one to appeal most is Rebel Redemption, with his two defeats in stronger company this month easy enough to forgive. His first two starts for this yard both stack up very well at this level and he might not face much competition for the lead either.
Paul Smith

Kempton

6.00: Alhammaam

Lafan has a good overall AW record and can get straight back on track after a lesser run last time but preference is for Alhammaam, who arrives on the back of two good runner-up efforts in handicaps and can provide his in-form trainer with another winner.
