The three-year-olds Rival and Solent Gateway have shown strong form here and retain potential, but they need to bounce back from lesser efforts and the main threat could come from Gabrial The One, who was second to the selection over course and distance in June.

Chives bids to complete a hat-trick and has very obvious claims but it can pay to oppose him with You Name Him (nap), who finished tired and well held when third at Southwell last month but was the only one to give the fast-improving winner any sort of race and ran quite a bit better than the bare form suggests. Thirtyfourstitches didn't fire when last in action but may yet build upon his Worcester win in June.
