Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's four meetings

Friday selections at Lingfield, Southwell, Newcastle and Dundalk

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Dundalk

6.45: Kadinnka

Beautifully-bred newcomer Short N Sweet and the Joseph O'Brien newcomer Sistine Madonna both make plenty of appeal. Irish newcomer Breach and the once-raced Silk Damask are both promising, while Mna Na Mhi is well respected on her debut effort here in November. However, Johnny Murtagh has started the year in fine form and Kadinnka will be hard to beat if building, as expected, on her debut third here last month.
Justin O'Hanlon

Lingfield

3.35: Metier

Perhaps the most intriguing runner is lightly raced Irish raider Carrarea and, although unraced under these conditions, the canny Emmet Mullins knew the score when declaring him. He could quite easily be very well handicapped and is preferred to his compatriot Lucky Max, but Metier is the bet. There was a lot to like about how he moved through his race at Ascot before Christmas and returning to heavy ground, on which he won his Grade 1 last season, has to bode well. Gowel Road and Hudson De Grugy are others entitled to be in the mix.

Newcastle

4.30:Vindobala

Everything looks in place for a big run from Vindobala and she can notch her second win over this course-and-distance. She has been running well on all-weather for her current team and the drop back to this grade will be in her favour. She is taken to get the better of Local Bay, who might be ideally suited by a bit further, and Global Vision, who ran well at Wolverhampton last time.
Richard Young

Southwell

1.10:Dubai Emperor

This can go to Dubai Emperor, who hit a clear personal best with his breakthrough win at Chelmsford last week and looks well treated under a penalty for that emphatic success. The main danger is Maharashtra, who has hit the target in two of his last three starts including a stylish win from off the pace over course-and-distance last time. Third choice is the very lightly raced six-year-old Hart Fell, who rallied well to finish third behind an improver at Lingfield two weeks ago.
