Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Selections from Ballinrobe, Chelmsford, Ffos Las, Nottingham and Wolverhampton

Tuesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ballinrobe

5.25: Rain In Spain

A number of these have solid chances, with Demi Plie one of those likely to make the market and others such as course-and-distance winner Oscer Romero making a bit of appeal. The selection is Rain In Spain (nap) who continued her good form with a convincing success in a mares contest at Cork recently and ticks most of the boxes here.
Justin O'Hanlon

Chelmsford

7:35 Epidemic

Velvet And Steel is much respected with excuses last time and the potential to improve for this longer trip, but the suggestion is Epidemic (nap). He remains progressive and is a far better horse now than when he previously tried the all-weather. Luna Wish is also a player, as are one or two others.

Ffos Las

4.15: Hesperis

This can go to Yarmouth winner Hesperis (nap), who looked likely to follow up at Epsom 19 days ago but ultimately found 1m4f on good to soft ground just too taxing. She's back on a quicker surface here and the drop back to 1m2f ought to suit. There should still be a bit more to come from Beowolf, who is earmarked as a likely danger, while Dancing Master seems sure to appreciate today's return to a sound surface.
Chris Wilson

Nottingham

6.45: Whitwell

The comparatively unexposed Whitwell (nap) is taken to follow up his Ripon success. Second choice is fellow last-time-out scorer De Mazzaro, who may have more to offer for his current stable. Flying Standard is third choice.
Steve Boow

Wolverhampton

5.05: Mac McCarthy

Ghostly is the obvious starting point but he's not guaranteed to match last week's winning form and there are several others to consider. Preference is for Mac McCarthy (nap), a course and distance winner who suggested his turn wasn't far away last time. Irish Eileen and Celtic Force are next best.
Stuart Redding
