Kempton Placepot picks: Tom Segal with a small perm for classy jumps card

The chances of a decent Placepot dividend can actually increase with small fields and hopefully that's the case at Kempton.

Having to find the winner of three four-runner races where only the winner gets you through to the next leg is not easy, although that probably isn't the case in the opening juvenile hurdle (1.00) where Impulsive One looks to have a big class edge.

However, the feature Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Hurdle (3.15) is trickier because there is not much between the top-class pair Silver Streak and Sceau Royal on form and both go well fresh.

Course form might swing it marginally in the favour of Silver Streak but I would put both in and also include Teqany, who has been trained for this race, is fit from the Flat and receiving 6lb. If the latter upsets the applecart, we can be guaranteed a decent pay out.

All four runners can be given a chance in the Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Novices' Hurdle (2.05) but the ones to concentrate on could well be the impressive recent Warwick winner Cobblers Dream and the Irish raider Hammersmith.

With firm in the going description there has to be a chance that at least one of the other three Placepot races will end up being reduced to four runners and that would make life very difficult. As things stand it might be worth banking on Isolate in the novices' handicap chase (1.30) and the bold jumping Mercian Prince in the 2m2f handicap chase (2.40).

Isolate has plenty of chase experience which should count him in good stead around Kempton, while Mercian Prince is three from five over fences at the track.

Finally, it has been hard not to be impressed with Mister Tickle's jumping and he will be hard to peg back in the concluding Placepot leg (3.50).
