Graeme Rodway fancies his chances of landing the Placepot at Leicester

Three tricky two-year-old races kick off the card at Leicester and if we can sneak through those we could have a good chance of landing the Placepot. Let's give it a go.

Eight runners in the opener (1.30) means it’s impossible to leave out likely favourite Forever Forward, who looks a good bet to build on a promising debut second at Sandown.

The 7f nursery (2.00) won't be so easy. Branston Lion might appreciate the return to quick ground after a solid effort on soft last time at Hamilton. Charlie’s Jamboree is another good option.

The 6f nursery (2.30) that follows looks just as tough. Monza City ran well at Goodwood last time and must be included along with Mariance, who appears to be progressing well.

Harry’s Ridge is one of the bets of the day in the 6f classified stakes (3.00) and rates a banker, while similar comments apply to Mr Wagyu in the 6f handicap (3.30), who should be hard to beat.

Only six line up in the 1m4f handicap (4.00) so it's just two places on offer. Sorrel should run well for Sir Michael Stoute and it's worth taking a chance on Alemagna now she is fitted with a hood.
