Glorious Goodwood Placepot tips: Paul Kealy provides his perm on day three

Day three declarations were made after testing conditions became apparent, so punters should be able to bank on limited non-runners after two cards full of withdrawals.

Whether that will make the Placepot any easier is another matter, but I'm pretty certain King Frankel hated the fast ground at Newmarket last time and he's worth another chance in the opening 1m2f handicap (1.50). This is one of the weakest races he has run in.

He is joined by Patient Dream, who has been progressing on a soft surface.

The Richmond (2.25) is competitive and there are only two places up for grabs, but Ebro River is the juvenile with soft-ground form and he has to go in. Favourite Asymmetric's dam performed well on soft, which puts a tick in his box.

The Gordon Stakes (3.00) is really difficult, but there are reasons for thinking Derby also-rans Third Realm and Youth Spirit are better than their efforts at Epsom suggest and they're chosen on ground that will suit.

Audarya heads the market for a weak Nassau (3.35). Given she has solid form on all surfaces (won on soft, third in the Prix de l'Opera on heavy last season) she is very much the one to beat.

I'll bank on Audarya as the other races are going to need some coverage, especially the 15-runner nursery (4.10). It's interesting that Mark Johnston has entered Whitefeathersfall as her best run came on quick ground, but it's early days yet and her dam has produced two proper mudlarks.

Outsider Vaynor is another with a proper soft-ground pedigree, while South Audley, by soft-ground Group 1 winner Aclaim, makes up a speculative trio.

The closing leg is a 7f fillies' maiden (4.45) and none of those with experience have run to an RPR of better than 77. However, it hasn't taken much more to win this race in recent years and Helene should be on the premises for Richard Hannon.

Of the newcomers, the Qatar Racing-owned Shoutout, whose two siblings both won on bad ground, looks the pick.
