Useful Flat performer who has some decent efforts over hurdles on his record and should soon be capable of breaking his duck over obstacles. His last two runs have been disappointing, but the testing ground probably wouldn't have suited and he could return to form on this better surface.

Smart Champion (1.50 Goodwood)

Temptingly handicapped off a 6lb lower mark than when finishing a close third in this race last year, with Saffie Osborne's 5lb claim on top today. Shaped well over two miles here on his penultimate start and looks primed for a big run.

Hortzadar (Goodwood 3.00)

A bit in and out this season but capable on his day as shown with an excellent third in the Lincoln earlier this season. A course and distance winner last September, has a good draw and with a decent claimer taking 5lb off his back, he could go well.
