The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Sunday

BANKER

Riders Onthe Storm(3.50 Punchestown)

A raw horse last season, Riders Onthe Storm put together a number of decent performances in novice hurdles, including when beating the talented Spades Are Trumps by just under three lengths in heavy ground at Navan before being placed at Listed level. Trainer Tom Taaffe has always said he would be better over fences and he has shown considerable promise in two starts this year in much better races than this. Beaten only by Hardline and Getabird in Grade 1 company last time, Riders Onthe Storm travelled strongly throughout but didn't quite stay the 2m3½f trip and the drop in distance looks a good move.

DARK HORSE

Treacysenniscorthy (3.20 Punchestown)

Showed very little on his first two starts in maiden hurdles at 66-1 and 100-1, but was eyecatching when staying on to take sixth on his penultimate start and was unsurprisingly sent off a lot shorter in the market on his handicap debut last time at Navan. Held up from the outset, Treacysenniscorthy made encouraging progress down the backstraight and looked the most likely winner turning for home, but those exertions took their toll as he eventually flattened out and finished fifth. The extra distance today isn't sure to suit, but he remains a well-handicapped sort and can go well at a price.
