The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Friday

BANKER

Swansdown (5.35 Haydock)

An extremely well-bred Dubawi filly who didn't show much in novice company before running a really nice race to finish second on handicap debut in November. The last runner for trainer Luca Cumani before he retired, Swansdown was heavily punted in the market but found a lot of early trouble and was forced to pass all nine rivals to win. She almost managed it, as well, but went down by a diminishing three-quarters of a length at the line and marked herself as a surefire future winner. Now with William Haggas, Swansdown, who will have progressed over the winter, is able to compete off just a 2lb higher mark and should have no problem getting off the mark.

GOOD THING

(4.40 Goodwood)

Former bumper performer who has shown clear ability on the Flat on his last five starts, recording form figures of 34312. John O'Shea's gelding bumped into useful sorts Endlessly and Ulster in three novice runs, before proving that a mark of 74 underestimated him by scoring on handicap debut. Following a 50-day break, he was unlucky not to back up that victory at Nottingham, finishing strongly to almost overcome a pace bias. He's gone up 1lb despite being beaten there but providing he handles the track, he remains well-enough treated to score go one better.
