The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Saturday

BANKER

Azzeccagarbugli(5.30 Newcastle)

Trainer Marco Botti hasn't had a winner in 22 days but I'm more than hopeful this ex-Italian-trained gelding can end his bad streak in what looks a poor mile handicap for the grade. A three-time Listed winner in his homeland, Azzeccagarbugli put in a number of respectable performances at large prices for his new yard in the autumn before being the recipient of strong market support last time out. Despite having the run of the race, he just failed to hold on to the line and has subsequently been raised 1lb for that effort. This race is much worse, though, and he should get a nice run through behind Tough Remedy.

GOOD THING

Notwhatiam (3.35 Warwick)

Typical type that Dan Skelton loves to rejuvenate and improve following a wind operation, and he's done just that as this nine-year-old has recorded two victories from four starts since joining the yard. Looked unlucky not to go close when falling at Cheltenham having travelled well in October, and bumped into a couple of useful types last time out. Trip is fine, carries just 10st 9lb and remains a horse that could be leniently treated. The projected price of 9-2 underestimates him.

DARK HORSE

Carole's Destrier(3.00 Warwick)

A strong pace is expected in this edition of the Classic Chase at Warwick and that should set it up perfectly for the strong-staying Carole's Destrier. A well-treated horse off a mark of 138, Carole's Destrier returned to something like his best after a spell in the doldrums at Newbury last time out – hitting the line powerfully over 3m2f to fend off a number of rivals. The step up in trip will suit, he jumps well this way round and will love the good ground.
