The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Friday

BANKER

Documenting(4.45 Lingfield)

Kevin Frost's six-year-old is a horse I really like and I think there is still plenty more improvement to come from him, but he has already shown enough ability to win a race like this and his opening show of 8-1 was far too big. He has only had 12 career starts and it took him a while to put everything together but it clicked three starts back when winning over 7f here, before bolting up by seven lengths at Wolverhampton. He won like an extremely good horse that day and the speed figure backs up his impressive finishing burst. He had plenty of excuses last time out and the booking of James Doyle is interesting (never ridden for the yard).

EYECATCHER

Breathless Times (1.30 Lingfield)

The opening apprentice handicap is very competitive and a clear run through is important, but if the gaps open I think it will be hard to beat Roger Charlton's Breathless Times. Partnered by smart claimer Cam Noble, Breathless Times has had this race as his target for a long time and ran a nice prep at Newcastle in February when finishing a close-up fifth. This track is much more his cup of tea, his draw isn't too bad and the early fast pace will help his cause.

DARK HORSE

(2.00 Lingfield)

Amade is a short-priced jolly for the marathon and he may well prove a cut above, but the manner of his two British successes suggest that Lingfield won't be ideal and it is worth taking him on with the classy Spark Plug. The clear value bet in the race, Spark Plug, a former winner of the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket, has plenty to find at the weights but ran a nice race on his first start over this trip when last seen, is unexposed on the all-weather and is a fresh horse after a quiet winter. He beat subsequent Scottish Champion Hurdle winner Verdana Blue on his penultimate start, which is evidently pretty good form.
