Friday selections: our experts provide their best bet of the day

Handicappers' nap

Proud Archi (3.30 York)

Stayed on well to finish second over 6f last time and now back to his optimum trip. Looks well treated if back to last year's best.

Burning up the gallops

Kvetuschka (7.40 Goodwood)

Ran well behind subsequent Oaks winner Anapurna when sixth at Lingfield last time. Peter Chapple-Hyam's grey has since worked well on the Long Hill Polytrack.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Chartered (7.40 Goodwood)

Ran over 1m2f here last month and stayed on in the closing stages behind Terebellum in the manner of a filly who would need further. This step up to 1m4f should suit.

Irish Angle

Aqueliga (5.20 Cork)

An eyecatcher on her debut at Down Royal two weeks ago when she finished well for third after being slowly away, the daughter of Slade Power makes plenty of appeal and gets the vote to score for Paddy Twomey.
Tony O'Hehir

Speed figures

Edmond Dantes (6.05 Goodwood)

Improved on last season's efforts when runner-up on his handicap bow on reappearance last month and could take the lion's share of this prize.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Delph Crescent (2.20 York)

Beaten 16 lengths when fourth of seven at Doncaster last time out, but they all finished strung out and he's better than that. He was running well previously (including here) and has edged back down the weights, while he won over course and distance and on good to soft last year. He can go well for last year's winning yard.

Dark horse

C Note (3.45 Sandown)

Heather Main's gelding is 2lb below his last winning mark, handles cut in the ground and was a shade unlucky at Windsor on Monday. He could run a big race at an each-way price.
David Revers

Must-have stat of the day

Since the start of 2017, David's Beauty has form figures of 5313112 when running at Chepstow (+£10 to £1 level-stakes). Away from that track the mare is 0-23 over the same period. She runs in the 5f handicap at 3.55.
