Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, jockey bookings. . .

Trainer form

Sister Of The Sign
8.00 Newcastle
Angle: James Given has won with two of his last three runners.

James Given's string are clearly in good fettle right now and Sister Of The Sign could continue her yard's winning ways.

The three-year-old filly has been in good form herself, winning two of her last three starts albeit in small fields. The bigger field – she beat only one rival last time – could be a concern, but she's been on an upward curve in the last few months and has a course-and-distance win on her CV.

Ratings

International Law
6.00 Newcastle
Angle: Last time out winner is 3lb clear on RPRs.

International Law bounced back to form for trainer Antony Brittain at Wolverhampton 17 days ago, winning a 1m½f handicap. His victory came in a higher grade than this evening's race, and, handed just a 2lb rise, he could be shrewdly placed to follow up under regular jockey Cam Hardie.

Another positive is the five-year-old's course-and-distance success off a 2lb higher mark than the one he races off this evening.

Wild card

Annabelle Rock
5.45 Dundalk
Angle: Ronan Whelan is a perfect two out of two riding for trainer Ado McGuinness at Dundalk this season.

It has paid to follow the mounts of Ronan Whelan in 2019 when he has teamed up with trainer Ado McGuiness at Dundalk, and the pair combine again with last-time-out winner Annabelle Rock.

Both trainer and jockey have picked up four winners each in the last fortnight and the three-year-old filly is also in good heart, winning her last two starts at this course.

The Racing Post Rating she earned when winning comfortably in December suggests she remains fairly handicapped.
