Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer and course form, as well as tonight's wildcard, a notable trainer-jockey combination.

Trainer form

6.40 Chelmsford
Angle: Patrick Chamings' form

Chamings has had two winners from five runners in the last fortnight and sends out course-and-distance winner Charles Molson, his only runner of the day.

The eight-year-old goes well here, twice finishing second at the track last year, and will run off 1lb lower than his most recent win, which came at Newcastle in 2017.

Course specialist

7.40 Chelmsford
Angle: Tropics' course record

Tropics has only finished out of the top three twice in eight starts at Chelmsford, with his most recent win coming here over this 5f trip in January.

The 11-year-old finished second here last time and remains on a mark of 103 as he renews rivalry with the winner, Lord Riddiford, who was raised 4lb for his success.

Winning combination

Chil Chil
9.20 Ripon
Angle: Josephine Gordon's record riding for Andrew Balding

Gordon has only had four rides for Balding this season but was successful in two of them, returning a level-stakes profit of £29.

They team up at Ripon with Chil Chil, who finished second at Bath earlier this month. The winner, Philipine Cobra, was ridden by Gordon that day and has boosted the form with victory at York.
