Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, first-time headgear . . .

6.20 Southwell
Angle: improved Racing Post Rating

At the age of eight Point N Shoot seems to be peaking, as he put in a career-best effort on RPRs when winning at Sedgefield last time.

The 15-length demolition earned him a figure of 111, which was 5lb higher than his previous best of 106.

He's up 11lb in the weights, but clearly relishes a stamina test and looks the one to side with against some out-of-form rivals.

Dunkirk Harbour
6.40 Dundalk
Angle: first-time blinkers

On form alone, Dunkirk Harbour should probably be winning this mile maiden for Aidan and Donnacha O'Brien.

His last two performances showed significant improvement from his first two efforts and it is interesting O'Brien has reached for headgear.

Dunkirk Harbour found little for pressure when runner-up here last time, so a drop back in trip combined with first-time headgear looks a wise plan.

Pottlereaghexpress7.00 Taunton
Angle: jockey form

Jonjo O'Neill jnr has burst onto the scene in a big way this season and despite the pressure mounting up, he continues to deliver.

The young jockey is operating at a 33 per cent strike-rate for the last 14 days, with seven winners from 21 rides.

Pottlereaghexpress has been largely disappointing since she finished second in a Portrush point-to-point in May last year, but after seven starts under rules it is too early to write her off.

O'Neill jnr also rides the Colin Tizzard-trained Eden Flyer in the concluding bumper at 8.00.
