Beauty Generation (8.05), the world’s top-ranking miler on turf, will again take the spotlight in the Group 1 Stewards’ Cup, attempting his sixth win on the trot.

His appearance is the major focus of an outstanding card at Sha Tin, where the big names dominate the feature races but the value is to be found in the supporting heats.

The John Moore-trained champion will be at Altior-like odds and he should win this mile contest with his head in his chest despite the presence of Pakistan Star and Conte, who have both made plenty of their own headlines of late.

There is also another hot favourite on the card attracting attention, the Frankie Lor-trained Mr Stunning, who faces seven rivals in the 6f Group 1 Centenary Sprint Cup.

This dual winner of the Hong Kong Sprint is as sharp as any around at present, but three-year-old Styling City (7.00), with a 7lb pull in the weights and ready for the step up to six furlongs, is capable of a devastating finish if held up. Styling City is the value bet.

California Archer (8.40), arguably among Joao Moreira’s better mounts (he has a full book of ten), has finished second on both his starts for local legend Tony Cruz, and this is his chance for a breakthrough.

He has drawn ten, which places him closer to the favoured stands' side on the ‘straight five’ course, and gives him a great winning chance.

Moreira is also aboard Waikuku, justifiably favourite for the finale, a Class 2 7f handicap, but surely it is time for the Cruz-trained King Of Hearts (9.50) to show why he is so highly regarded.

In Britain he was trained by William Haggas to win five races and finish second to Expert Eye in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. Silvestre de Sousa is a significant booking.
