Chepstow Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his perm for the evening card

Most of my best bets are at Chepstow, so let’s have a go at the Placepot there.

The opening 7f handicap (5.50) looks one of the trickier races on the card. Star Of Valour is an interesting runner for Colin Tizzard and Tom Marquand, so it’s worth including him. He has been off the track for a while, though, so take a chance on Wilfy as the back-up selection.

Marsh Benham sets the standard in the 7f maiden (6.20) and must be included. However, he doesn’t look banker material and it might be worth putting in the George Boughey-trained Doves Cry.

Moonshiner is one of my strongest fancies of the day and she should go well in the 6f handicap (6.50). It’s competitive, though, so take out insurance with Storm Melody as well.

General Tom Thumb has the edge on form in the 6f maiden (7.20) and is banker material.

Grain Of Sense went off too quickly at Salisbury last time and is worth another chance in the 2m handicap (7.50). It’s also worth putting the consistent Tigerten into the perm as well.

George Bancroft is my pick in the 1m4f handicap (8.20), but he is risky from a place perspective. He will probably either win or bomb out completely, so include Sisterandbrother.
