Qualifier Katerina Siniakova may still have more to give
Wozniacki could have a tough time denying Czech qualifier
ATP & WTA China Open
Sky Sports Arena & BT Sport 1, from 5.30am Friday
Katerina Siniakova took the game to Kiki Bertens in fine style in the last 16 of the China Open and it could be worth chancing that the Czech qualifier does likewise against Caroline Wozniacki in their Beijing quarter-final (9.30am start).
Siniakova has always had the potential to be a top-20 performer if not a top-ten one and while she’s essentially a gradual improver, it appears that the penny has dropped this week.
It was pretty much one-way traffic to support Wozniacki on Thursday, but the markets sometimes get it wrong and backing Siniakova with a start of 4.5 games may be the way to go.
Recommendation
K Siniakova +4.5 games
1pt 4-5 Betfred, Coral, Hills
