Day three preview

A mix of heavy fog and storms meant that the second round of the Barbasol Championship was unable to be completed on Friday evening as more than five hours of play were lost on the day.

First-round leader Adam Svensson was able to complete round two and extended his lead to 15-under through 36 holes as Keene Trace Golf Club provided an easy task for the lesser lights of both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.

The Canadian, one of the form players coming into an event with a weak field, is now 7-2 to take the title with young German Matti Schmid - three back with eight holes still to play - an 8-1 shot.

He looks the main danger to the favourite but a challenge may also come from Englishman Tom Lewis, who has found his form at Keene Trace after a difficult first half of 2022.

Lewis is also three behind and will begin the last four holes of round two by playing the 498-yard par-five 15th. He is six-under through 14 holes of round two despite losing strokes on the greens, which shows how well he was striking the ball on Friday.

The 31-year-old should get closer to Svensson and he's a tempting each-way outright bet at 22-1 but a better option could be to back him at odds-against to secure a top-ten finish in Kentucky.
