Tom Segal thinks Leicester Placepot can be cracked with minimal outlay
The Skeltons look the team to follow at Leicester where they appear to have good chances in five of the six races.
Their horses will obviously be popular in all Placepot perms but it sometimes pays to stick to the obvious and Book Of Secrets in the opening juvenile hurdle (12.55) and Lonimoss Bareliere in the Leicestershire Novices' Handicap Hurdle (2.30) are bankers after good recent runs.
Reilly has a bit more to prove in the Christmas Meeting @leicesterraces 28th December Book Now Novices' Hurdle (1.55) but he should improve for his comeback run at Exeter and has to go in as well.
However, with only four runners it's best to stick in Marble Sands too, as he's the form pick on his recent Lingfield second.
The final Skelton-trained horse to have in the perm is Dorisa Queen in the mares' handicap (3.30). She took a big step forward when winning at Stratford on her stable debut and can improve again for that run. However, her form is a bit behind a few of these, so I would include Astra Via for the Evan Williams team.
The hardest leg to get through is likely to be the competitive Nelson Panoramic Restaurant For Dining @leicesterraces Handicap Hurdle (3.00).
Cases can be made for several but has always threatened to be better than he's shown and ran well at Exeter on his reappearance, while should appreciate the drop back to two miles after not quite staying over further last time.
Finally, the seller (1.25) looks a weak race and it will be surprising if Gaia Vallis doesn't hit the frame after a series of consistent efforts.
