The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Wednesday
BANKER
Flarepath(5.20 Chelmsford)
Homebred Exceed And Excel filly who ran like she needed the experience on debut at Leicester in September, but caught the eye as she plugged on under hands and heels to take sixth. The form of that race isn't bad at all (winner subsequently fifth in Group 2, fourth has landed a novice) and a big step up likely with the run under her belt. Makes her all-weather debut and will need further in time but should have the class to beat Dubrava, her main market rival, and is partnered by Kempton specialist James Doyle.
EYECATCHER
Head Lad(12.55 Chepstow)
Showed very little in two bumpers and a couple of maiden/novice hurdles, but burst onto the scene in his first attempt in a handicap at Southwell last time out when a strong-staying second to a subsequent winner. He came eight lengths clear of the third that day and, although the drop in trip doesn't look ideal, he is definitely well-in off a mark of 93 and should win sooner rather than later. The fact trainer Jonjo O'Neill has booked his son to ride, who is well worth his 6lb claim in this race, means he's effectively racing off 3lb lower than last time.
