The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Wednesday
BANKER
Eskendash(3.45 Warwick)
Pam Sly's five-year-old has proven frustrating to win-only punters the last few seasons, with ten second or third-place finishes from 16 career starts, but is a decent, albeit tricky, horse on quick ground and can follow up his easy Kempton success at the start of the month. That victory, a six-length romp, may have given Eskendash confidence and this strong-traveller picked up well when asked that day – something he's not always done in the past. This is a much tougher race against battle-hardened handicappers, but he still looks well treated on a mark of 124 and Richard Johnson knows him well.
EYECATCHER
Reshaan(5.55 Kempton)
I'm more than willing to take on likely favourite and topweight Angelina D'Or in this mile apprentice handicap, who may look vulnerable under an attacking ride with a furlong to go, and consequently sided with the unexposed Reshaan. Richard Hannon's three-race maiden, a son of Dark Angel, showed a lot of promise on his debut here in September last year – beating subsequent winners Warsaan and Fennaan – before a below-par performance on his first start on turf against a good field at Newbury second time out. He was far too keen that day, however, and Frankie Dettori was far from hard on him once passed. He ran with plenty of promise on his return at Lingfield, again on turf, although he was beaten a fair way. Back on the all-weather, up in trip and running off a lowly mark of 69, he can go close.
EACH-WAY PLAY
Sayem (7.55 Kempton)
Ed Walker's four-year-old filly can cause an upset in the London Mile qualifier on the back of a quiet seasonal reappearance in a good Ascot handicap three weeks ago. The daughter of Sayif won twice over this trip at Windsor in July last year, looking like a horse much better than her rating of 75 on the second occasion, before finding life tougher off marks in the 80s. She travelled well for a long way on her debut before the lack of a recent run caught up with her and she'll certainly come on for that. She has a nice draw in stall six and this race should be run to suit.
