The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with one to follow on Sunday

GOOD THING

(3.25 Pontefract)

Sir Michael Stoute has a 26 per cent strike-rate (12-46) at Pontefract over the last five years and can enhance his tally with Derevo in the 1m2f handicap, a race he won in 2017 with Swiftsure. The most unexposed runner in the race by some way, Derevo, a Khalid Abdullah-owned son of Dansili, ran well over an inadequate 7f on his sole start at two but showed significant improvement for a step up in trip and from two to three when dotting up on his reappearance at Chelmsford. It wasn't much of a race but the runner-up is now rated 84, 1lb higher than the mark Derevo can compete off today. He disappointed favourite backers back over the same course and distance last time, but posted a career-best RPR and can improve significantly for a return to turf.
