The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Wednesday

BANKER

Capitaine(3.45 Wincanton)

The jumps season is back and Paul Nicholls looks to have a strong hand at Wincanton, not least with the strong-travelling Capitaine in the 2m4f handicap hurdle. This grey is prolific when on song and has recorded seven wins from just 19 starts, including when returning from a wind operation to score in February. I fancied him at the Cheltenham festival on his next outing but after travelling well he didn't pick up and finished down the pack, before being placed on his last two starts. He has since undergone wind surgery again, suggesting his breathing was still hampering him, and, if that has helped him, he should get back to winning ways.

EYECATCHER

Vive La Difference (3.30 Nottingham)

Tim Easterby's runner was entered earlier in the week before the meeting was abandoned due to waterlogging, but he will relish the heavy conditions at Nottingham today and is extremely well handicapped on his best form. Running off a mark of 68, 8lb lower than when last successful, Vive La Difference has spent a time in the doldrums this summer but has generally competed on ground too quick for him. The testing going will be right up his street today and he hinted at a return to life when fourth of seven at Musselburgh last time out.
