The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Friday afternoon

GOOD THING

(3.45 Lingfield)

Course-and-distance winner on debut who went on to take the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes in a race-heavy juvenile campaign that also saw him compete in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Keeneland. Mighty Gurkha proved that he wasn't a one-season wonder with a gutsy reappearance success at Kempton in January and has clearly been laid out for this race ever since. If he can control the pace under Hollie Doyle, he should prove hard to beat.

DARK HORSE

(4.45 Lingfield)

Khuzaam is the standard-setter in the Mile, but he's a big-framed individual who may not be best suited to this track. I want to oppose him at the prices with Silver Quartz, a son of Frankel who showed a high level of ability when with Hugo Palmer as a three-year-old and looked as good as ever after a break at Chantilly last month. French-trained runners have an exceptional record at this fixture and providing his wide draw doesn't cause too many issues, he looks overpriced at around 7-1.
