Sweetspots: Stoute’s Drifting Star can shine in first-time visor

Sir Michael Stoute has a 32 per cent strike-rate at Doncaster and relies on Drifting Star in the 3.10. The son of Sea The Stars will be suited by the step up in trip and he wears a visor for the first time.

Robert Winston has a 25 per cent strike-rate at Salisbury and he goes there for one ride, Secretfact in the 5.25. He should have come forward since his last run and will appreciate the drop back to five furlongs.

This is a prime time of year for James Fanshawe. The Newmarket-based trainer has a 19 per cent strike-rate with his runners two weeks either side of today’s date for the past five seasons.
