In the past five seasons Sir Mark Prescott is three from eight – a 38 per cent strike-rate – when sending horses on the 360-mile trek from Newmarket to Ayr. Timoshenko, who goes in the 5.10, is his only representative at the Scottish venue.

Jim Crowley does particularly well at Ripon with three winners from five rides, meaning he has a 60 per cent strike-rate. The former champion jockey has four mounts: Murqaab (2.15), Mayson Mac (2.45), Mutadaffeq (4.20) and Qawamees (4.55).
