Handicappers' nap

Paisley Park(2.25 Ascot)

Was found to be suffering from a fibrillating heart when his long winning run was halted in last season's Stayers' Hurdle, but he shaped most encouragingly on his reappearance and he remains the one to beat in the division.

Ace tipster

Not So Sleepy (3.35 Ascot)

Won this race last year in dominant fashion on heavy ground and looks overpriced to repeat the feat following a successful campaign on the Flat in the summer.
Graeme Rodway

Newmarket nap

Dubai Warrior (2.00 Lingfield)

John Gosden's progressive type worked nicely on the Al Bahathri on Wednesday and is fancied to repeat last year's success in this despite a 3lb penalty.
David Milnes

Speed figures

Oakley (3.35 Ascot)

Has not won for almost two years but has produced some honourable efforts in defeat and could end his barren spell.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Thyme Hill (2.25 Ascot)

Won his first three hurdle starts, including a Grade 1, and an unlucky fourth in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham. Returned with a win from Paisley Park at Newbury last month and, although the runner-up is 3lb better off for a length and a half, there could be even more to come.
Ben Hutton

Dark horse

Lightly Squeeze (3.35 Ascot)

Was slightly disappointing last time out at Ffos Las, but the form of that race is strong and if wind surgery and a tongue-tie can eke out further improvement he can return to the form he showed this time last year when rattling off a soft-ground hat-trick.
Joe Casey
