Yanworth 2.40 Ascot
SP forecast 10-11

Has long been targeted at today’s contest, which connections say will help decide what route he takes this season. Was one of the top novice hurdlers in Britain last term, winning his first four starts before losing out to Yorkhill in the Neptune and remains an exciting prospect.

Conclusion Not officially top-rated in this line-up, but has much the most potential and can prove too classy. Banker.

Cue Card 3.00 Haydock
SP forecast 6-4

Twice winner of today’s race, including by seven lengths last year. Beaten on his return last month, but tends to come on bundles from his reappearance and much better is expected of him today. However, recent rain has to temper enthusiasm for his chances.

Conclusion A slog in the mud is not to his advantage and both Coneygree and Silviniaco Conti are well capable of running the legs off him if more rain arrives.
