Plumpton Placepot tips: Tom Segal provides his perm for the jumps meeting
As far as summer jump racing goes the Plumpton card isn't too bad and the most informative race may well turn out to be the Strong Flavours Catering Juvenile Hurdle (3.40).
The tongue-tie and hood put me off the Nicky Henderson-trained Impulsive One for his hurdling debut, so this is best left to Aggagio, easy winner of a Goodwood seller last time and who had some hurdling experience before joining the Gary Moore team.
Moore, who had a double at Fontwell recently, has other chances on the card, most notably with Imphal in the Thank You Mark Cornford For Everything! Handicap Hurdle (4.10). Throw in Bagan too as he looked in good form when winning a seller earlier in the month.
The best race is undoubtedly the 0-130 handicap hurdle (2.40) and on his best form Glory And Fortune would be a class above his opposition. He finished in midfield off a higher mark in the Betfair Hurdle last season and usually goes well fresh.
If he's not fully wound up, then it might be worth putting Leroy Leroy in the perm too. He ran well in a decent Flat handicap recently.
The opening maiden hurdle (2.10) should go to Galata Bridge without too much fuss and he can be relied on, as can the Paul Nicholls-trained Dogon in the Peter Earl Memorial Handicap Chase (3.10).
The concluding Placepot race (4.40) may be the hardest to get through, although Valentine's Turf should improve for the switch to fences on his debut for Christian Williams.
He makes the most appeal but it's risky to bank on any horse making their chase debut, so Hold Me Tight, who ran well for a long way at Uttoxeter earlier in the month, should be included too.
