If there is one horse in this race with the potential to be rated a stone higher in a couple of months it is Alaphilippe and he should be clear favourite.

Many will assume he is just running to qualify for the Cheltenham final, but connections won this with a similarly rated horse last season and they may have loftier plans anyway as Alaphilippe has been put in the Stayers' Hurdle.
