Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's ten meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Beverley

3.50: Udaberri

Sean Woods is having an excellent season and the progressive Udaberri can follow up his Salisbury win. The unexposed mare Nikhi could be best of the rest, ahead of recent course runner-up Noonie.
Ben Hutton

Cartmel

3.19: Ask Paddington

Seven-time hurdle winner An Tailliur may not have finished improving and is respected but Ask Paddington looked back in prime form when pulling clear on the run-in at Market Rasen last week and he remains well handicapped on some of last year's exploits. Course specialist Native Fighter is also likely to make his presence felt, while Midnightreflection is a more speculative option to consider.
Chris Wilson

Catterick

5.24: Special Mayson

A competitive sprint in which Special Mayson can get off the mark for the season. He shaped nicely on his return, when suggesting he had more than enough pace for this trip, and with a few of these happiest making the running he may be able to tuck in off the pace and bring his stamina into play late on. The Armed Man (second choice), Redrosezorro and Stalingrad are all capable of going well too.
Paul Smith

Chelmsford

4.45: Blue Flame

The return to 7f shouldn't be an issue for Puerto De Vega and he should go well despite being 6lb above his last winning mark, while Natural Path is respected on his all-weather debut being out of a Polytrack winner. However, the vote goes to Blue Flame, who has been a model of consistency in all-weather handicaps over this trip (record 212113) and only just missed out in a similar race here last time.
David Bellingham

Chester

5.30: Teumessias Fox

Chester regular Restorer should be thereabouts again with his rider's 7lb claim reducing his load but Teumessias Fox appeals more at the other end of the weights. The only 3yo in the line-up, the selection bumped into a progressive colt on his handicap debut and can go one better against his elders. Fairmac is next on the list.

Ffos Las

7.30: Emorelle

Trips of up to 2m4f simply haven't been long enough for Emorelle to get there in time under waiting tactics, and there will be far fewer possible excuses granted this extra half mile or so, assuming a falsely run affair doesn't ensue. Uninspiring over hurdles so far, Southfield Megan has positives now that she is returned to the trip of her pointing success and she gains narrow second preference over Czech Her Out.
Jeremy Grayson

Haydock

3.30: Sunray Major

The last time Kinross ran in a Group 3 was when winning this last year and he's a hard horse to knock at this level, especially over his optimum trip. However, he may well meet his match in Sunray Major, who didn't look out of place for long periods of the Group 1 Lockinge and for whom this sharper test (2-2 at 7f) could be just the job. Happy Power is another key contender, and it will be interesting to see how Laneqash fares now he's gelded.
Alistair Jones

Navan

1.05: Olivia Maralda

The experience gained by Olivia Maralda when a close second at the Curragh last week can stand to her today and she can go one better. The well-bred Statuette looks to be the Ballydoyle first-string and is a danger, while Angel's Feather is by a top sire and should be considered.
Tyrone Molloy

Punchestown

2.33: Naughtinesse

Naughtinesse makes plenty of appeal, though she will likely need to show more professionalism than was the case at Tipperary. Most feared is ready Wexford winner Sadie's Pride in a nice race.
Johnny Ward

Salisbury

6.45: The Cola Kid

Top of the list is triple turf winner The Cola Kid, who went very close back in this sphere at Leicester on Monday and has strong claims if he can repeat that form off the same mark. Second choice is Strike, who was a good fourth in a big field at Ascot last time and still has potential after only seven starts. The other one on the shortlist is the admirable 13-year-old Pettochside, who placed in all of his three runs this season and should give it another good shot back up in trip.
