Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Fancies for Haydock, Redcar, Uttoxeter, Fakenham, Newcastle and Dundalk

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Dundalk

4.45: Bright Idea

Choice Of Mine is best off at the weights but there have to be major doubts about what ability remains. Bright Idea (nap) is the much preferred option arriving in career best form after a narrow defeat in a handicap here last time. The consistent Dance Emperor could be the one for each-way backers.
Phill Anderson

Fakenham

3.23: Midnight Jewel

Balkardy will come good sooner or later and Jumping Cats can build on his Fontwell win. They're feared in that order, but in his current form and under a penalty, Midnight Jewel (nap) has every chance of winning his fourth race in five starts.
Alistair Jones

Haydock

2.20: Chairmanoftheboard

The vote goes to Chairmanoftheboard(nap), who is running into top form and might have won at York last time but for being switched twice. Thaler (second choice) is very interesting back over 6f, while Russco is another respected 3yo. Cold Stare, Raatea and last year's winner Air Raid are other likely players.
Steve Boow

Naps table: daily tipping selections from national newspaper experts

Newcastle

8.00: Makeen

Several in-form sorts on show here and this looks a warm race for the grade. Bringitonboris is a solid contender but there is just a nagging doubt over the application of a visor as he's disappointed in cheekpieces previously. Makeen (nap) has been threatening here in recent starts and can take advantage of his last opportunity off this mark. Mushaba, Emraan, Twisted Dreams and Pacino all have something to recommend them.
Paul Smith

Redcar

2.40: Arctic Fox

This may well be the right opportunity for Arctic Fox(nap) to break her losing run. She looks the most dependable proposition in this field. Thai Terrier and Glasses Up have also proved their stamina.
Richard Austen

Uttoxeter

3.40: No No Maestro

Although he doesn't make life easy for himself, No No Maestro(nap) has won his latest two starts and still looks attractively handicapped. Colours Of My Life is a shot in the dark but may be next best with Gats And Co also considered.
Jonathan Neesom
