Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Saturday picks from Newbury, Newcastle, Doncaster, Fairyhouse and more

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Bangor

12.47: Boagrius

The vote goes to the well-handicapped Boagrius(nap), who finished a clear second behind a progressive subsequent winner over C&D in July and is a big player if he can pick up where he left off. Second choice is the 7yo Out On The Tear, who ran well for a long way in a Class 3 at Worcester on his return last month and could resume his progress on this drop back in grade. The other one on the shortlist is another unexposed chaser in Jack Valentine, who looks interesting back at this trip on his second run after an absence.
David Moon

Doncaster

2.18: Ask Paddington

His recent stable/chasing debut went pear-shaped at a fairly early stage but Ask Paddington(nap) has generally been in good form over hurdles this year and Theo Gillard's useful 5lb claim gives him some room for manoeuvre today. Herbiers put a poor seasonal debut behind him when fourth at Wetherby last month and should now be at concert pitch. Courtandbould is next on the list.
Chris Wilson

Fairyhouse

12.00: Favori Logique

Maxine O'Sullivan's experience is a positive in regard to Favori Logique (nap) who arguably has the strongest recent form claims in any case. Halsafari rates a danger on the form of two Cork runs over shorter trips, and the locally trained pair Lord Lariat and Nobody Home are also quite appealing. Jody Townend will be an asset on the veteran My Manekineko.

Newbury

3.00: Eklat De Rire

The lightly raced 7yo Eklat De Rire(nap) has star potential for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore, having won all of his three completed starts over fences. He's the selection ahead of the Willie Mullins-trained Ontheropes who follows the same route as the stable's Total Recall, who won this in 2017 having landed the Munster National the time before. Enrilo could be a big threat for Paul Nicholls as he travels well and seems to idle when in front, so could still have something extra up his sleeve. Fiddlerontheroof and Copperhead could go well for the rejuvenated Tizzard stable, while Demachine could be in the mix if jumping with fluency.
Ben Hutton

Newcastle

12.20: Scene Not Herd

Luckofthedraw looked good at Huntingdon but there could be competition for the lead here with Pookie Pekan also making all for his last win. Caboy should go well but he may not cope with Scene Not Herd(nap), who jumped for fun and looked a horse going places at Hereford.
Alistair Jones

Wolverhampton

4.00: Howzak

Stake Acclaim, The Daley Express and Expert Opinion all figure prominently in calculations but Howzak(nap) still appeals as being ahead of his mark and returning to 5f should be in his favour. He can take this step up in class in his stride.
